Golfing
Curtis and JC enjoyed playing golf with the gift certificate JC gave him for Father's Day. As JC gets older I know this will be something they will always enjoy doing together!
Surgery Day
This was just before Curtis went back for his septoplasty. I had intentions of taking before and after pictures. However I didn't think he would like the idea when he came back from surgery with his bandage, so we just got the before shot.
Safe Biker
As a service project, the Tupelo High School Anchor Club presented bike helmets to JC's class at Oakmont. He is so proud of it and wants to wear it all the time. Yeah for safety!!!
Vacation Bible School
The theme for Vacation Bible School at our church this year was Beach Party, and boy did the kids have a great time!!! I taught the kindergarten class, and they were a great group. This was JC's first year to go to VBS. He really seemed to enjoy it!
Waste Management Company Picnic
The Waste Management Company Picnic was held at Trace State Park. It was a fun-filled day for everyone. They had games, kiddie pools and a waterslide set up for the kids. There was also a dunk tank for the big kids. Folks lined up to dunk my husband. Ha!
We are so thankful that God has blessed Curtis with such a good job with this great company.
Blueberry Muffins
My son likes to bake with me... He likes cracking the eggs, measuring the ingredients and using the mixer, but his favorite part is definitely licking the bowl. Hey, who's isn't?
My friend, Lauren, from work has blueberry bushes at home and brought me a bag full of fresh blueberries, so I found this recipe on-line and baked away. They turned out great!
Blueberry Muffins
1/4 cup butter
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. sugar
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. milk
2 c. blueberries
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease muffin pan (or use paper liners). Beat together butter, eggs, salt, and sugar. Mix flour with baking powder and sift into first mixture, alternating with milk. Blend in vanilla. Fold in blueberries. Bake for 25 minutes.
The Greatest Show in Earth
We had a great time at the circus with Elicia, Sarah Beth, Emily, Aunt Bev and Chas. Elicia won tickets on the radio and invited us to go, spur of the moment. It was so much fun!!! JC and Sarah Beth loved it so much. My pictures of the circus itself are bad, but we got some great family shots. Thanks again, Elicia, for thinking of us. It was a GREAT time!!!
Thanks President Bush
Yes, we probably should have used the money to pay off some bills, but instead we used our Economic Stimulus check as President Bush intended and got a much needed new mattress set and grill. Whoopie!!!
Hawaiian Hotties
Curtis has been a fan of the Hawaiian shirt for some time now, and I think it is cute that he is passing this on to JC. We got this shirt for JC at Children's Place last year and he would not wear it. Then, when Curtis got one that looked similar this year I got JC to wear his so they would look like twins. Posing in the sunglasses was all their idea. Oh, how I love these boys!
JC's big boy bed
When Curtis and I decided to get new matresses in our room we put our old set in JC's room since he was so comfortable sleeping on them anyway. Ha ha! We took down the crib/toddler bed and put in the Queen size bed, and he LOVES it! I thought it would make his room look a lot smaller, but it really hasn't. Previously, he had been getting up sometime after midnight and coming to our bed, but now he now sleeps in his bed all night.
My baby is getting so big!
From our yard
God blessed us with some beautiful flowers earlier in the summer. My Easter Lilly was gorgeous this year. In the pots by our doors I planted geraniums and irises.

Sweet Sarah Beth
Looking at this beautiful picture of my sweet cousin, Sarah Beth fills my heart with such joy. SB is the daughter of my first cousin Elicia. She just celebrated her 2nd birthday this week, and I am so thankful for her.
Sarah Beth was born with a hole in her heart. She was a sickly baby and the hole had to be repaired prior to her 1st birthday. What a scary day that was for the whole family. She was such a small baby to be undergoing open-heart surgery. The Lord was with her and she came through the surgery and has done great ever since. Doctors at UMC Children's Hospital were amazed at how quickly she recovered.
Now, she is a happy and healthy toddler who does all the same things other kids her age enjoy.
Thanks be to God for this miracle in our family. I love you, Sarah Beth!
